Japanese Healthcare
I've been to one hospital on a vocational visit - and spent time with the senior Nurse talking through the challenges that healthcare in Japan faces and learning so much about the different systems and what's really very similar in many ways (overspending, infection control, risk management and more).
I've spent this evening with an Oncology Consultant in a local hospital
(http://www.perfectliberty.ca/history_a3.htm) and have been fascinated by the different approaches taken to the treatment of cancer in this part of the world. For example they seem to undertake more surgical and less palliative treatment than in the UK.
I'm off to another hospital tomorrow and already have so much to tell everyone at work!
