Its a long old road 長き古道

Today we did some trekking up the old Kumano trail. A trail that has been used for many years by people of all gender and religion. It is a pilgramage set up of a number of paths areas of which being far more difficult than others. In reality it would take several days to follow the entire path but in the few hours we had we were fortunate enough to see some beautiful sights, shrines and get some fresh air. Our guides were very prepared and both spoke excellent English.

本日私たちは熊野古道でトレッキングをしました。この古道は長い間、男女、宗教問わずあらゆる人々に使われてきました。これは特に難しい行脚の道です。本当は全ての道を通るには何日もかかるのですが、私たちは幸運なことに、数時間で美しい景色、神社を見て、そして新鮮な空気を吸うことができました。ガイドさん達はとても知識豊富で、素晴らしい英語を話していました。

The team managed to set our flag at the top of one of the peaks.

私たちチームは峰の１つに旗を立てることに成功しました。



We visited a shrine and the same etiquette applies as the others we have visited. The bells need to be rung to get the attention of the gods, then two bows, two claps, a prayer, and one final bow. This shine was particularly old and quite beautiful.

神社を訪れ、他の訪問場所で習ったエチケットを応用しました。鈴を神々を呼ぶ為に鳴らし、二礼二拍手、お祈りをし、最後の一礼。
この神社は特に古く大変美しかったです。



At the end of the trail we were treated to the largest gate(!) in Japan.

古道の最後に、日本で最も大きな（！）鳥居を楽しみました。



And we set our flag in front this time however without the Japanese Pilgrim hats.

そして鳥居の前に私たちの旗を立てましたが、日本の旅人の笠は無しです。
