A 2 kilometer long path in the graveyard of Okunoin to the Mauseleum of Kôbô Daishi is lined with 20,000 tombs erected from the Kamakura Period. Actually, it is not known how many tombs were erected here if we take into consideration the tomb stones erected during the Heian Period and are left buried underneath the earth. There are tombs of emperors, noblemen, and warlords, and corporate Japan such as Nissan, Toyota and UCC. Here are just a few.
