Japan's first 24 hour airport was realized by building out into the sea with the help of outstanding expertise from around the world.

日本初の24時間営業の空港の建設は、世界中の選りすぐりのエキスパート達の手助けによって実現されました。
It is located 5km offshore and linked to the mainland by a road and rail bridge and fuel is delivered straight to the airport by a sea terminal. It was opened in 1994 and has been so successful that a second, larger runway has been built next to it which was opened in 2007. The airport has acted as a catalyst for continuous commercial development of the Kansai region and it makes you wonder why our government does not see similar benefits in the establishment of the long proposed Severnside Airport.
We were given a personal guided tour of the facility by Atsushi Murayama, CEO of the airport and former MD of Panasonic in Cardiff (pictured far left).

私たちは、空港の代表取締役社長であり、カーディフのパナソニックの前MDであった、村山敦さん(写真最も左)に、設備を案内をしていただきました。

The airport serves 71 cities in 31 countries with 57 airlines and over 45,000 passengers a day.
